Project: Tuberculosis

About Sierra

A graduate of two local Arizona universities, Sierra is now a Research Associate in the Altin Lab. She conducts molecular screening to identify high-affinity interactions for the development of prototype Bartonella hensalae and Chikungunya virus biothreat detectors based on small-molecule moieties. Since the emergence of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, Sierra's research has expanded to include investigations into the potential roles of new viral infections (such as coronavirus) or the reactivation of latent infections in triggering reactivation of latent TB.
