Project: Single T Cell Analysis
A recent graduate of NAU, Jenn is currently a Research Associate but began her tenure with the Altin Lab as a Helios Scholar in 2019. After returning from her study-abroad program in January 2020, she continued to work as an intern during her junior and senior years of college; and she became a fully-fledged RA in 2021. Jenn spearheads all of the lab's serology work, which includes running various ELISAs to test for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in human plasma samples collected pre- and post-vaccination. Additionally, Jenn has recently taken charge of one of Dr. Altin's Tuberculosis projects, in which she utilizes the 10X Genomics platform to understand T cell antigen specificity and phenotype on a genomic level. Her goal is to identify a protective immune state against Mycobacterium tuberculosis that can be applied to stage-specific profiling of TB patients and development of a more effective TB vaccine.
"I have been able to witness firsthand the efficacy of the vaccine and its ability to promote antibody production against SARS-CoV-2."
